Deanna wins the Hot House Jazz Fans Decision award and the Martin Luther Hymn Prize!

Earlier this week, I attended an awards ceremony at the Metropolitan Room in NYC for the fourth annual Hot House Fans Decision Jazz Award. I was one of five pianists nominated in the piano category.Pianist/composer/record label owner Randy Klein came to the stage to introduce the winning pianist...and he called my name!I want to express my gratitude to all of my fans who voted for me. Your support is very encouraging to me, and this specific recognition is because of you. Thank you!In other news, I'm one of three composers chosen nationwide to receive the Martin Luther Hymn Prize, a commissioning contest sponsored by Lutheran Arts. I'll collaborate with text writer, Jayne Southwick Cool, to compose a new hymn and choral anthem by March of next year. The finished music will be made available for public distribution at lutheranarts.org during 2017.
