Deanna wins the Hot House Jazz Fans Decision award and the Martin Luther Hymn Prize!

Earlier this week, I attended an awards ceremony at the Metropolitan Room in NYC for the fourth annual Hot House Fans Decision Jazz Award. Thank you!In other news, I'm one of three composers chosen nationwide to receive the Martin Luther Hymn Prize, a commissioning contest sponsored by Lutheran Arts. I'll collaborate with text writer, Jayne Southwick Cool, to compose a new hymn and choral anthem by March of next year. The finished music will be made available for public distribution at lutheranarts.org during 2017.Yes, this jazz pianist composes choral music!
