Originally written for Lent, a season that invites “turning” or a change in direction, this original piece can be sung with just melody by a congregation, or with four parts for choir.
For ease in congregational singing, two keys (E-flat and C) are provided in the piano/vocal scores, lead sheets, and bulletin inserts.

1. Turn my heart, O Lord, from selfish gain to your commandments.
Turn my eyes from vanity to your life.
Turn away from me the disgrace that bows my head;
in your righteousness give me life.
2. Turn our faces, Lord, that we might feel your love surround us.
Turn our hands toward others who need your love.
Turn away all fear that divides us in this place;
help us trust your call from above.
3. Turn our heart, O Lord, to feel your Spirit breathing in us.
Guide our feet to walk in your long embrace.
Turn our lives toward you; lift our hands in constant praise
as we bless, renew, heal and love.
First verse is adapted from Psalm 119:33-40.
