I’m happy to be writing while looking out at trees in my mom’s backyard in upstate New York. There are so many logistics with the new album- and with upcoming tours and performances- that I am grateful for the opportunity to escape the concrete jungle. Yesterday I saw two red cardinals and yellow finches that made repeat visits to the backyard bird feeder…
I’m also happy to unveil the album cover for Makes the Heart to Sing: Jazz Hymns:
The digital album and sheet music e-book will be released in August; the physical CD will be released in October. You can pre-order any combination of these items ($10 for the digital album; $15 for the CD; $25 for the digital album/e-book combo; $30 for the physical CD/e-book combo) HERE at Bandcamp.
I’ll also be traveling a bit in the coming weeks: this coming Sunday, June 25, I’ll be back in NYC with my trio, leading a jazz vespers on the upper east side at Church of the Heavenly Rest; on July 1-2, we’ll be in Ashtabula, Ohio at St. Peter’s Episcopal Church; and on July 9, I’ll be leading solo at Guardian Angels Catholic Church in Oakdale, Minnesota. Later that night, I’ll give a workshop/performance on improvisation for a writers’ workshop at the Collegeville Institute in Collegeville, MN.
I even have a choral premiere happening on July 9– in Minneapolis- that I won’t be able to attend (but hopefully some of you will be there, and will report back to me)! The sheet music is newly available for purchase at MorningStar Music.
Finally, for any of you who will be attending the ALCM (Association of Lutheran Church Musicians) conference in Minneapolis on July 10-13, I’ll be there! There are so many great musicians in the Twin Cities who I want to meet up with- please send a note to email@example.com if you’ll be at the conference/in town.
Further details on these dates are available at my calendar.
See you soon!
